The Summer Group Newsletter Redesign

Gerald, from The Summer Group, gave me a call and asked if I could redesign his current newsletter. I was more than happy too. His main concern was he wanted to keep the home town feel & look. We accomplished this by keeping the design simple and adding fun clip art. Gerald loved the final design. Yeah!

ACOSPM Brochure Update Done

On 10.19.09 “We had lift off”, as Nate would put it. Linda from ACOSPM did a short 500 run of a previous version of this 11 x 17 trifold brochure. Now we had to make the final updates for the big 10,000 print run that includes 9,500 mailed. With Nate’s, Aline’s & Linda’s help we created a great revised version!

Summer Group Newsletter 1st Draft Done

Well, yesterday I submitted the 1st draft of The Summer Group Newsletter re-design. It went pretty well. Gerald commented back, “Love the newsletter. Great Job.” We have some minor changes to do and then I think we are there. Will post a before and after when approved.

Monday Sucked! Tuesday Great!

Monday I was out all day with a sick little girl. Turns out the sickness that has been lingering on for weeks turned into an ear infection with a very bad sore throat & fever! Poor girl was in pain. Finally got her to the doctor and got some medicine. Our power was also out from 2 am to about 10 am because of our huge snow storm. It’s crazy being bundled up in hats and blankets because it’s in the 50’s in your own home! Also my battery backup died. What a Monday! I wasn’t going to let this bad luck carry on any longer. Tuesday Rocked! I had double the work to do but got it done. I ended up producing 10 jobs! I wanted to clear the way then I could focus on my newsletter re-design for The Summer Group out of La Habra, CA. I have to get a proof out today then we can move forward on our Friday final file upload. Well, off to work – bye for now.

Parent Approved Business Cards Approved – Jacksonville, FL

We have wrapped up Denise’s business card updates from Parent Approved – Childcare Resource Services, Inc. There art two designs – President & Sales Coordinator. We changed some contact info and adding a tagline to her logo. More input on her brochure predicament: Looks like we are just going to make updates to her old brochure and do another print run instead of color labels. The quote she received from PrintingForLess.com was great!

After troubleshooting with Microsoft Word on my MAC, working on a PC in Publisher wasn’t so bad! Just a few differences but now I have a good feel on how Microsoft programs run. I am happy to say these programs do not scare me as much as they use to. I guess my real fear was the fear of the UNKNOWN! It was nice to get out of my comfort zone and take on some new territory! There is talk that I might need to duplicate these forms in Excel too. So far I have created at total of 20 forms – WOW!

Microsoft WORD . . . .

We are finished with all the business form templates that need to be editable in Microsoft Word on MAC & PC! YEAH! I learned a lot on this project; How to make tables, small tips & tricks to make table editing easier, fix font problems, making word docs protected & lots & lots of patience! I am not much of a PC gal, all about the MAC though. I am very happy my husband has a PC then I could trouble shoot each form to make sure they worked on both platforms. Now I can make a Microsoft Word Template pretty quickly now. We made a total of 10 forms. 8.5 x 11″ & 5.5 x 8.5″  Invoice, Work Order, Statement, & Purchase Order forms, and 2 booklet style forms. Now for the 2nd stage of the project. I NEED TO DUPLICATE ALL THESE FORMS IN MICROSOFT PUBLISHER while working on a PC – Yikes!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS – Business Cards!

Linda, from ACOSPM is getting ready to go to a conference and realized she had no business cards to pass out. Business cards are crucial! These little 3.5 x 2″ pieces of paper are many businesses first impression & serve as a major form of communication. Make sure your card is pleasing to the eye, not hard to read and contains correct contact information. Times are tough right now. If you can’t afford to print many promotionaal materials to grow your business, at least get business cards. For around $50 (includes shipping) you can get 500 4-color 1-sided cards printed! Here is the design that I used for Linda’s business cards . . .
